Deity worship is considered one of the important limbs of Bhakti in Hindu Mythology. India has the treasure chest of infinite powerful temples, that leads to spiritual awakening and attaining the divine.

Lord Vishnu is considered the primary creator as per Hindu scriptures and He is believed to dwell in the hearts and souls of all living entities. ‘Divyadesams’ are 108 important temples of Lord Vishnu and visiting these widely proclaimed temples are said to be highly rewarding for seekers of Lord Vishnu’s mercy to achieve the spiritual knowledge that is said to have been possessed only by a precious few.

Ahobilam includes all the nine Narasimha temples around the Nallamala Forest Range. While some of the temples can be reached by trekking, some others are remotely located inside caves. Lord Narasimha, dwelling in all these nine temples, is considered very powerful and destroys the fatal disease of ignorance.

The picturesque village of Mahanandi, layered by dense forests, houses one of the ancient temples of India, Mahanandiswara Swamy Temple. This temple is considered as one of the famous nine Nandi shrines otherwise called Nava Nandulu. Nava Nandi shrines all lie 15 km within Mahanandi.

One of the prominent Shiva Sthalas in India is Srisailam, where the Lord presents as Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy and his consort as Goddess Bhramaramba. The temple is said to possess powers beyond material comprehensiom.

Visit one of the most ancient and Holiest cities of India, Kasi or Varanasi. Kasi Yatra is considered an ultimate pilgrimage to the people on a spiritual journey. Pilgrims perform rituals to appease various deities. Some also perform rituals as a means for the souls of deceased ancestors to find peace. Holy river of Ganges flows mightily in Kasi and believed to cleanse the pilgrims off their sins.

Ayodhya, Kasi and Allahabad are sacred cities which Hindus must certainly visit on their spiritual journey. A spot where 3 holy rivers Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati merge is considered very auspicious and people take holy dips.

Four temples also called ‘Char Dham’ marks the spiritual source of the four Sacred rivers, Ganga (Gangotri), Yamuna (Yamunotri), Mandakini (Kedarnath) and Alaknanda (Badrinath). Heaven and Earth are believed to converge in these very spots. Hindu pilgrims have been visiting the holy Char Dham for ages.

Pilgrim jewels of south India include Madurai, Rameshwaram and Kanyakumari. All 3 cities have famous temples, Madurai Meenakshi Amman temple, Ramananatha Swamy temple and Bhagavathy temple. Whole Madurai is known as ‘City of temples’ and the most prominent of all is Meenakshi Amman Temple, propitiating Goddess Parvati, consort of Lord Shiva. Rameshwaram played a huge part in epic Ramayana which is well-read by people all over the world and therefore attracts innumerable explorers. Kanyakumari is the southern tip of peninsular India and located on the confluence of 3 oceans Bay of Bengal, Arabian sea and the Indian ocean.
